Anita Soni, D. Educational Psychology, MSc in Educational Psychology, MA in Education, BSc (Hons) Psychology, BA (Hons) History/Social Policy, PGCE (Early Years)
Anita has worked as an Educational Psychologist (EP) for 14 years, alongside working as an Early Years Support Teacher for Birmingham Local Authority, and more recently an Early Years Consultant and Trainer. As an Educational Psychologist, she applies psychological theory and research to support children, their families and staff in their emotional and social wellbeing and learning.
Anita delivers high quality, bespoke training and packages of support within early years settings, primary schools and Children’s Centres with an aim to develop the understanding and capacity of all staff who work there. She enjoys working with leaders and managers to identify areas of strength and for development, to then deliver tailored, bespoke training, with time for staff to implement and subsequently share their improvements in practice in order to create a learning community.
Anita has interests in supporting children’s development in Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) and Communication and Language (CL), and delivers training in these areas. She also has an interest in supporting staff development through the use of supervision, video interactive guidance (VIG) and video enhanced reflective practice (VERP). Anita has also authored books, articles and chapters in edited collections in these fields.
