Date: Thu, 3rd Dec 6:30 pm-8:30 pm – Space(s) available 8

Safeguarding, and specifically Child Protection, is an integral part of every Early Years Practitioners job role and it is essential to keep up to date and informed of the signs of abuse and how to report suspected abuse. As the EYFS (2014 states “Providers must be alert to any issues for concern in the child’s life at home or elsewhere.” Child Protection awareness forms a key part of every Ofsted inspection. Having up-to-date knowledge will enable Practitioners to be confident in the process to protect everyone in the settings and deal with questions at Inspection time.

This short Child Protection Training Course will enable Practitioners:

  • To understand the Legal requirements
  • To recognise the signs of abuse and respond appropriately
  • To understand how to respond to disclosures
  • To understand the reporting procedures

This training Course is aimed at new or existing employees who need an introduction to Child Protection either as part of their Induction, once they have started work or to refresh their knowledge. It will ensure that they have a good understanding of the process of child protection and are aware of who to contact with safeguarding concerns.
