Organisations and individuals who work with children and young people, or are involved in providing services for them, have a duty to safeguard and promote their welfare.
Those in schools and educational settings who recruit staff and/or volunteers into the children and young people’s workforce should be trained in safer recruitment practices. For maintained schools, it has been mandatory since January 2010 for any staff appointments to be made by a recruitment panel with at least one member trained in safer recruitment.
Our safer recruitment course has been developed by the Lucy Faithfull foundation in line with the Department for Education’s statutory guidance for England ‘Working together to safeguard children’ and our trainer is accredited by the Lucy Faithfull foundation to deliver this course.
