First of all, I just want to congratulate you on choosing to work in such a great industry. Because you did, you are helping parents in a huge way by providing a safe, caring and nurturing environment for their child to grow to become confident, clever children; whilst dealing with all the stresses and strains that running your own business can bring. So again, I just want to congratulate you and tell you well done for doing such a great job.
It’s hard running any business, particularly in the childcare sector when a huge amount of your time is not only taken up looking after the children and liaising with parents, but also dealing with endless amounts of paperwork and if you’ve got staff, you’ve also got the job of keeping them motivated.
With all your other priorities, marketing is often neglected in our sector; but our customers can typically spend anywhere from £3,000 to £30,000 per year using our services. So, they could end up spending up to £90,000 over a three-year period. That’s an awful lot of money, but we spend hardly any time marketing our services to those parents to get them to enrol in the first place and then build on that relationship when they do become a customer. This is what I call Childcare Relationship Marketing.
