Local Authority Funding Rates

DSG Early Years Funding Data	DfE FundingOur campaign has gathered Early Years Funding Data and highlights the discrepancies in the way that DfE Funding for Early Years is distributed around the country. Below is the data for the amount received by each local authority as a guaranteed figure per child. The figure is the amount of money received in full time equivalents so we have converted this to a per hour per child amount to make life a bit easier (Calculation used is (x*15/25)/570). We have now included the amount actually received by providers as shown on the LA’s S251 Budgets.  If you find any errors then please let us know here.

We have won the fight for a fairer funding formula to be introduced but we must now ensure that the funding figure is sufficient to cover our rising staff costs with National Living wage and Pension auto-enrolment now in place. The Government continues to use outdated information about our costs to deliver. We have to set them right on this so I encourage everyone to work out their cost of deliver on the basis that all staff are paid a decent wage and as owners you are achieving an appropriate salary for your role. Not sure what that is? Well Teacher & Heads salaries (£38-£107k) can be viewed here.

We continue to hope for a future where a meaningful funding review results in fair distribution of money and means we can offer the outstanding childcare that children deserve all across the country.
