Observing using Technology (e.g with Tapestry)

Observing using Technology tapestry training Observing children and planning around their individual needs is an essential part of the EYFS and crucial to your Ofsted rating. Practitioners need to be aware of the characteristics of effective learning and understand how these relate to observing children’s progress in their learning and development.

They need to know and understand when and what should be observed and importantly what should be assessed.  If you are using an electronic recording system such as Tapestry to track your observations then you need to make sure you are using it to its full potential to track the children and inform next steps.

This Observing with systems such as Tapestry course will enable You:

  • To identify what information is useful to record when observing a child.
  • Using systems such as Tapestry to assess within the different areas of learning and characteristics of effective learning.
  • To be able to evaluate what you observed in order to write meaningful Next Steps and make informed plans.
  • Getting the most out of Digital Observing and Recording.
