This month is ADHD awareness month, you can find out more about ADHD on the official website! We’ve developed and calendared a short ADHD Awareness course on Thursday 27th October for only £15. You can find out more information here.
Not only is this month ADHD Awareness month but it’s also Walk to School month. Walk to School is organised by Living Streets – their website has lots of great resources.
World Mental Health day is 10th October – so make sure to ask your parents if they are OK and take the time to listen to everybody – this year’s theme is supporting those in distress, so it is extra important to do that listening! (And don’t forget the other staff and yourself too!)
Friday the 21st is Wear it Pink – raising money for breast cancer. Apart from the obvious dressing up activities, why not try to put some pink in the rest of your nursery. You could try something like pink glittery water play, pink play dough or pink art & craft activities. Or you could go the extra mile and do some pink baking. They have a lot of other ideas on the Wear it Pink website.
Three important festivals this month with Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur on the 3rd & 4th/11th & 12th and Diwali on the 30th. If you needed a better opportunity to hit that Fundamental British Value of mutual respect, I certainly can’t think of one! Google is your friend with this one, with so much on offer it was hard to choose one activity or site to link to… how about this one for Diwali and this one for Yom Kippur!
As Halloween is such a big event this month, I realised I wouldn’t be able to fit all those scary ideas into this blog. To read my Halloween Blog you will be able to click here as soon as it is ready!
