Whilst we still await the first published inspection report on the EIF I thought I’d share with you my reasons for creating a webinar on the Education Inspection Framework.
Amanda Spielman has told us it is ‘Evolution not Revolution’, which is all fair and good but what has evolved? More importantly it’s not only knowing what but considering the reasons why and then knowing what to do about it!
I also have over 80 staff in my nurseries and I need them to know and understand these things as well…
Hence the idea of a webinar – this actually made me explore all of the current information out there. I went on several Ofsted Seminars and training sessions and read all of the published documents – yes even the Research document! I pulled together strands of information, I talked to Ofsted Inspectors about their thoughts on some aspects, I basically became about as expert as I could be on this one subject. Then I set about deconstructing it all… why?
Because I had to understand why they wanted to make these seemingly small changes, what was their new driving force – only this would help me re-construct the information I then needed to share with my staff – and the rest of the world. And so after many months of putting all this together I was ready to create and deliver my findings. My webinar was born.
So far it has been seen by over 100 people – and we use the same powerpoint to deliver our face to face training on this as well. It’s having 2 final viewings on Wednesday 25th September – so if you’ve not got your team prepared then this is your last chance to do it through this practical, shared method.
As one of our reviewers said “This was really informative. I have done several training courses so far on the EIF, yet this one was the most practical and gave me most ideas with how to support and share this with my staff. Thank you it was excellent and well organised and presented.”
